A Poem by oranges_melt
"

come and play.

"

Ten friends I could have when I drove off the street,

Nine short of one pencil could help me complete.

Eight liars and tellers will say what they want.

Seven teachers force me to use the 12 font.

Six dogs and six cats can make life worthwhile,

Five workmen and builders are needed for hire.

Four killers and fires can balance the world,

Three children and babies have yet to be cured,

Two diseases are teasers that shout out my name,

One person is left now to end this dumb game.

Whimsical piece which leaves me wondering whar triggered it off

Great write! I love the rhyme scheme. I think that this poem is really unique. I love the idea behind it, too. It's really cool how the number goes down line by line. I need to learn to make good poems like that!
