new youngster

A parental view/letter of thoughts for a newborn that has been born. Realistically, I'm imagining how I would react/think about it, considering that I am not close to that stage of my life yet.

godlike child,

i’ve been waiting for you.

heavenly sent, 

time well spent.

please never forget, 

that your potential is far greater than i can imagine.

your future is in your hands, 

may this life be lived with passion.

may the angels guide you to the plan that god has written.

there will be pain and mistakes in this life, 

so don’t let the weakness consume you. 

you’re stronger than that.

hatred burns,

so don’t leave ashes in your life,

because it’s all smoke and mirrors. 

pride may bring you flowers,

while death is in the shadows

and greed is on your sleeves.

it’s hard to resist riches

when it’s making a difference,

but don’t end up like Icarus. 

love is affection mixed with passion,

not obsession mixed with infatuation.

love can bring insecurity and jealousy,

while loyalty is understanding and eternity.

curiosity is the key to discovering this world,

use it as you may, 

and attempt to fulfill it.

drugs can desensitize,

but NEVER heal.

remember that, 

i beg you.

discipline is necessary in this life,

you will never move or learn without it.

if you master your self-control, 

you can do anything.

i want you to have the childhood i didn’t get.

i want you to feel the love i never felt.

i want you to never feel the loneliness i dealt with.

i want you to get the advice and hug that i should’ve felt.

i hope you get to drive yourself a Corvette. 

i hope you don’t drive it when you’re drunk and depressed.

i hope you smile more times than i did. 

i hope you get way more confidence than i had as a kid.

i need you to not be so dependent on others.

i need you to stand your ground when it comes to those inconsiderate m***********s.

i need you to love yourself before loving another.

i need you to know that you don’t need to change yourself for a lover.

i love you, ______

your birth will be the best day of my life.

your mother suffered pain for your life,

and i know you will be worth all my time,

as you are the world’s newest champion.
