Blinding Wall

Blinding Wall

A Poem by InkStainedHands

Fear was eating at me
Clouding my reasonable ways
So I put up a wall
To keep back the daze

I thought, I believed
It had always saved me
But all it did was shut out
Those that I needed to see

When you came along
You tried to break through
At first I was afraid
To love you too

I went step by step
Slowly getting closer to you
Trusting you more with each day
Not knowing I would find a love so true

You soon won my heart
I was surprised, yet thankful
You’re tearing down my wall
Now that you’re here, my life’s no longer dull
