A Love Song

A Love Song

A Poem by rav1209
"

A poem I may or may not use for the story I'm writing

"

I wanted you to know

That I would always care

No matter what you said

Or how I pushed you away

I want to be there

I want to see you smile

I want to hold your hand

And just watch you dance

I never meant it

I want to take it back

But I know second chances

Mean I’ll finish last

Leave me behind

Don’t wait anymore

I want to see you leap

Far from my grasp

Because I will always love you

And I will never see that face

Hear that laugh

or hold your hand

I want you to know

That this is my second chance

I will watch you

Walk ahead

Please step forward

Don’t worry now

You’ll be just fine

No need to second guess

Beautifully written and yes could definitely see this as a song...describes loss and letting go which is great for poems/songs.
