An older poem of mine.

What Happened

 

We used to be the best of friends

Together, forever, for life, and more

But then some words got spread around

And hurt both of our cores

 

We were aching for a solution

Painful or not

As long as we’re together again

And can forget the fights we’ve fought

 

I know I’ve said some painful things

But that’s no reason to fight

Why, we were just the best of friends

Until the other night

 

Those words I said were out of anger

Because I was so hurt

I’m sorry for the words I’ve said

Don’t let us become dirt

 

Dead and lost without the other

Half to you, you know

I’m just really, really sorry

That I sank so very low
