Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

A Poem by Michael Handel

I eat lycanthropes...

no seriously,

my every-morn routine

begins with wit cracking

skulls of the ill who howl

falsely at the Moon when

convenient, then retreat

to their tepid affairs,

feign bears, wolves, Etc.

to give themselves credit

for not being like him

or like him or

like her or

like her.

I, metaphorically, take these

sycophant, fantasy-fucked

maniacs and crack their

fantasy-bound

fantasy towns, wide open...

where people are bound

to their chains of

humanity, 'cept they

who gather in groups,

cabals, who dance round fire,

neath eclipse, whose lips form

into snout-like shapes to

scream their sissy-f**k

siren-wish words

towards the stars

while "real" men of

the flesh and foam

roam by the forest edge

stalking these

wolfman wannabes

so they/we

can have an eat for our

next-morn routine.

Werewolves

have nothing

on

boys like

me.

Haha! Yeh, I can see why you sent this to me! It's bloody brilliant!

It seems that anything that is deemed 'good' on this site is nearly always bloody fantasy. I hate fantasy. Oh, sure I'll write a twisted fairytale, but were wolves? No thanks.

Love the snappy and ferocious lines, so full of annoyance. The first stanza really grabbed me, I love the sense of impending violence and the slight edge of sarcasm. And of course, I, like the others agree that the last few lines are spot on!

Thanks for sending me this, glad that I'm not the only one!!

I heart Mike's writing.
Oh, hey Mike.

Truly fabulous read, in every conceivable way.
:)
And yeah, werewolves have nothing on boys like you.

The way you've written this is just perfect,

I know everyone else has said it but:
"Werewolves
have nothing
on
boys like
me."
Just WOW.

I like this. The power and the harsh reality.
Great read!
