Resurrect From The Collapse

Resurrect From The Collapse

A Poem by The Exception
"

Apparently I have issues, at least that's what my doctor told me, he gave me pills for my stomach.

"

Crossing roads without looking,
Where is it gonna take me?
Night after night spent with
My new best friends Captain Morgan and Prince.

Self destructive like few,
I push away all the issues I have.
Never will I admit my problems,
They don’t seem to reach my head,
As much as they take their toll on my body.

Feeling old and tired, stiff and numb.
There’s a pressure on my chest that doesn’t go away.

Is time going to heal me?

Taking a look at myself I realize,
I don’t want to be fixed.
Ruined, damaged, this is me.
And I don’t plan to stay around for much longer.

Such terrible truths shared and of the sort that few will admit to. The words glide across my conciousness with ease and slip by my psychic defences; allowing the self imposed despair to settle, like a well worn outfit. Needless to say, I really like this piece!

Nice bitter ending! I love how I can totally relate.
