Y K Sabharwal is a name that holds glory and it is a matter of pride that we are sustaining in such society.

Though he is not with us, but still he will live long with his path-breaking judgments and ideas. Today, we all are living in the society where it is only the law that can safeguard us. At the same time if we want the law to work for our progress then we need judges like Y K Sabharwal.

Let us start with his expedition, as of how he started and what were the challenges he faced to reach the pinnacle of success. Y K Sabharwal has begun his career as an advocate in 1969 at the Indian railways and after that, he excelled to Delhi Administration and then to Bar Council of India. After serving years, he was elected as the Chief Justice of India in the year 2005. Here he served for one year and two months and after that, he resigned. The reason for the resignation was the retirement age. The retirement age of the judges as per the Indian law is 26 years.

Y K Sabharwal has worked on all the fields of law and has spoken always for what is right. He believed in precision and never set back for the regression, no matter how hard were the controversies and even if he has not received support from the respective parties. There are many instances when we have seen his contemporary vision and the respect he had for the people and society. The LGBTQ movement was first understood by him and also the judgment for fundamental rights being challenged by the people of the country was given by him.
