We're all so nihilistic,

I tell my friends

to ignore the ghosts

of our suicidal youth.

and yet some absolutely ignore the warning...or just decide life isn't worth it and embrace those ghosts..
Some of the most talented poets couldn't ignore...Berryman, Plath, Sexton...Jarrell....they found their way back to their suicidal youths and struck gold...at least for them.
