Good-Bye

Sitting in an airport watching a couple bid their goodbyes is what inspired this piece

There comes a time

    When you must say good-bye

All good things must come to an end

    Throat is parched

Mouth is dry

    Seemingly lost your only friend

Trying to fight the tears

    As the teardrops fall like rain

Trying to avoid those fatal words

    Cannot seem to hide the pain

Love songs paint the scene

     Ripping me apart

Forever your undying love

     Is etched within my heart

Everything you say

     And everything that you do

Are the precise reasons

     For my loving you

As I sit and think

     How much I dread the day

That for whatever reason

     I will have to say...good-bye

We will have our share of laughter

     We will have our share of tears

There are many things we will share together

      Through the passing years

No matter what shall happen

      Or what the future will provide

Together we shall prevail

      I will be forever by your side

So hush now baby

     How I hate to see you cry

Because our hearts belong together

     Always and forever ,you and I

If not in person or face to face

     Bonded together by the heart

In my heart you will always have a place

     Therefore we will never be apart

As I look around

     It seems so awfully absurd

How a heart can be broken

     By just one simple word

So hush now baby

     Tears me apart to see you cry

You do not have to worry

     For my love will never die

The love we share together

     A love so pure and true

A love that is forever

     A world of me and you

Together we are the perfect season

     Upon one another we can rely

That is the perfect reason
