LIES

LIES

A Poem by timthy
"

betrayal by the one you love

"

As deadly as  the razors edge

Frigid as a sheet of ice

Foolishly thinking that lightning

Could never strike me twice

Your deceit has taught me  different

Betrayal has proved me wrong

To me , trust and  good intent

To you, the same old song

When will  I  finally realize

What will it take to learn

When you play with fire

You are surely to get burned

Seeming so invincible

Almost  immune to the touch

Difficulty letting go

After we have shared so much

One day you will finally realize

How much I truly cared

Hope you are haunted by the happiness

That we could have shared

Playing a game with hearts

Is in no way a way to live

In order to take there is a balance

In order to take you have to give

Much like an innocent child

Blindly believing your lies

Your motive is to  dismember

Inferno blazing from your eyes

Congratulations be to you

For you have played the game so well

Tactically playing to wound

With no intention of the kill

Playing a game with hearts

As if they were a toy

With only one intention in mind

To  mangle and destroy

The wounds you have inflicted

Permanent scars for life

Dismantled by lies you have told me

Sink in like a plunging knife

One final thought

Before I bid you well, and I go

Just always remember

You reap what  you sow

Believing your lies

That I should have ignored

One final thought that I can promise

I will be your fool no more.
