witness

if i were to give a gift 

to personkind

it would be a witness

that never naps 

or gets distracted

but instead has one task

to support our better instinct

by giving it a voice 

that lives above life's distractions 

and darker moods

and helps direct us through the big stuff 

and the small stuff

apparently this witness is available

to us all

for the asking

with practice, everyday

forever, never wavering

with faith
