Does it Matter?

Does it Matter?

A Poem by yolo

What makes the world step up to you?

When you fall, who knew you flew?

If times just a snowflake, passing us by

Why should we wait up and cry?

She met me on that afternoon day,

Sun in the sky, trees gently sway.

She smiles me on, provoking me to

Run with her and skip the queue.

Guards were after us, we didn’t care.

We ran on by, wind kissing our hair.

Into the crowd, we crashed on by.

They stopped chasing us, I let out a sigh.

She laughed, came up and kissed my nose,

My cheeks flushed, my jaw froze.

She grabbed my hand, pushing along

Eager to hear her favorite bands song.

The music would blare, angry and dry

But melody flowed through and into the sky

I rose, surrounded by people I love

Holding me up, surfing above.

Hands held me up, the strength was high

People passing me on, letting me fly.

The adrenaline was great, feeling like

Me and the music were so alike.

At the back, they let me down

I smiled, screamed happiness, like a clown

I yelled her name. It was lost in the noise;

Not afraid, I let myself join the boys.

The band played their set

I danced along, drenched in sweat.

People began to leave, the show was done

Night was coming, down goes the sun.

I looked for her, but unable to see,

I went to the tables and climbed a tree.

I saw her, yelled her name, and got a frown

From her face, she left for town.

Perplexed, I called her phone.

It rang and rang, then went to tone.

I tried again, and texted her twice

She never responded, my heart was ice.

The other day I was walking by

Her house, when I saw a guy.

He seemed familiar, I heard his voice;

He was the singer! I did rejoice.

I went to ask for an autograph

But I stopped in my tracks, I heard her laugh

So familiar, but so distant to me

She kissed the singer, I ran to flee.

My ignorance great, my mind ran through

The scenario again, then I knew;

I was lifted away from my prize

As she fell for his dreamy eyes.

What makes the world step up to you?

When you fall, who knew you flew?

Life is a snowflake, passing us by,

Yet when it melts, I always cry.
