Pennyless

Pennyless

A Poem by youngkingkwan
"

a short, soft and sweetie

"
Countless nights I’ve laid awake looking through the ceiling,
I whisper to the moon just to ask her why I’m feeling,
Like love is just a word, as if it doesn’t have a meaning,
Tell me that there’s someone else, help me keep believing,
In something that I thought I knew, something that I thought I had,
Usher said it best when he wrote you got, you got it bad,
I’ve forgotten what I thought of love, redefined the word,
To have another broken heart is one thing that I can’t afford,

I love when literature makes me think about something in a whole new way and this poem does that. Contemplating not how one feels by why, seeing just the words not their meaning, looking for something or someone to help see ones own beliefs. Another poem of great depth, it has been a delight reading your work and I look forward to reading more.
