Mood Swing

Have you ever felt so depressed

Have you ever felt so lonely

Refusing to embrace that solitary moment

And every once in a while, express a frown

Indeed, a true pessimist.

 

Too much of a pessimist

Never satisfied

Anxious to experience that wonderful joy

But instead just sat there and did nothing

How was it to truly feel just that one mellow state?

 

I had forgotten it all

What it felt like to be happy

But define that term "happy"

"Happiness is too overrated," I thought.

And for a mere moment, it felt as though I was right.

 

I longed to socialize with that thing called love

I marked time to see my friends

But then it hit me like a ton of bricks

Then and there I realized that

Happiness lies within

 

It lies within you

You as a person

Don't look into others to find your own

Think optimistically

And embrace all that you do have

 

Just remember that it can always get worse.

I like the message it in this. I am always telling myself that the only person who can make me happy is me, and that my life is actually good--it could be a lot worse! I think you wrote something a lot of people can relate too! Nice work.

"Happiness is too overrated" I've always thought the same way like that almost all the time. I've always had a depression problems for as long as I could remember...

Anyway, this is a very great thought provoking piece you got there, so it's all still good tho...
