A Poem by shiloh jennings
"

Jan. 30, 1996

"

like waves through the water,
strength ripples through her muscles.
she stops.
perched on the edge of the plateau.
eyes tense,
body poised,
ready to pounce.
ahead, her prey moves,
unaware of the danger that is so
close at hand.

she waits,
knowing that soon,
the perfect moment
will present itself.
the sun continues its
breath-takingly slow
travel,
across the vast blue heavens,
still, she waits.
as the minutes creep into
hours, she sees her
perfect moment crawling
ever closer.
soon,
soon,
NOW!
She breaks into the silent daylight
like a swimmer through the surface of the water.
she springs, catches her prey unprepared,

preditor being the past,
feeding on the future
with the full haunting strength of memories..
