Two As One

Two As One

A Poem by Yvonne Remington
"

A love poem

"

Within the center of this chalk drawn heart
The bond that draws us together will not pull us apart

We finish each other’s sentences. How long has it been?
This and many others have been going on since when

We give each other room; we found that’s a must
To do the things we each like so there is no fuss,

Politics and religion we are on the same half
We have fun each day and make each other laugh

You like chocolate and I like peanut butter
I hopelessly am messy and you hate my clutter

Sometimes we disagree and agree it’s bad
But really don’t fight and never go to bed mad

Never do we use words that we would foul crimson clover
That’s why I love you a million times over

When the day is done, I wouldn’t trade the bad times
For they are what have made the good times chime

And nestled comfortably in this poem that is done
We shall dwell as our hearts continue to beat as one

About
This is my second round on this website. My hiatus helped me develop into short stories. I have an anthology on Smashwords, but I realized I needed a community of like minded people. Please read, .. more..
