My "new" life

A typical day in a world ruled by technology

Remember the good old days when "conversation" was part of a normal day.When people at the bus stop talked to each other instead of "texting". When school nutrition breaks were all about playing tag and kick ball.When children were impatient to go home so they could tell their parents all about their days.
Those days are long gone. They have been replaced with sad, slow days. Days where the only thing that matters is whether or not my phone will "die". Or whether my parents will pay my phone bill on time so I can "talk" to my friends.
The sad truth is that our lives will never go back to being how they were.Modern technology has taken away most of our human aspects. We cannot hold conversations without constantly checking out phones for incoming "tweets" or "snap chats". We cannot go to the park without taking our portable WiFi.
Life has lost its purpose and humans have also lost their purpose.
Today I got home really excited to tell my mom how happy I was that my SAT scores had improved. So I pulled out my results and she glimpsed at them and told me that I had done a great job. So I went ahead to tell her about my day,but half way through our talk her phone beeped.She did not hesitate to check the text as she tried multitasking -listening to my story and replying to a rather funny text.I kept talking ,but i knew I was close to losing her. When I realized that she was fully involved in her text I stopped talking and decided to eat dinner. After five minutes she looked up and said "so how was your day?"
Its not her fault that she cannot hold a conversation without getting distracted.Its what technology has done to our brains. We have become walking zombies who are always in search of WiFi or a charger.Why cant we start searching for real life conversation rather than ways to avoid conversation.

I'm going to clap at this story, it's really good, exactly my kind of writing and the kind of writing I like.
It is really good, you have a strong piece here and all of its true.. sad but true...
Modern technology can be good and mostly bad.. because on the other times, the past, when we liked someone, we would go and talk to them, not like today that we have social networks and all of that stuff.
But like you said, thats the said truth, we can't go back to those times... we must move forward and acoplate with the new world upon us... Good piece of writing.

A relocatable piece. I understand exactly what you mean, while my friends and their social lives are dependent on the internet, my only entertainment is video games and tv. I'd much rather go outside and play hide n seek or even make up a game for every one to enjoy. but not no one cares enough to even consider the Idea, leaving me to myself as had your mother left you in the story above. I feel for ya, ~_~

I think this is a really cool concept, and I like the writing a lot. Consider editing it down just a little bit because it might come off as repetitive? But overall this is a really strong piece. Keep writing!!!
