Icarus, My Heart

Icarus, My Heart

A Poem by Zi

Know now, doth my soul
The touch of one pure as gold
Yet wary be, my heavenly love
For the warming sun was not far above
Too much thou hast of this good thing
And now it hath clipped thy angelic wing

And with no wing, as thou art
Leaves none here to receive my heart

And I, alone, in this sky
Wish not alone you had to die

And with yet one final dive
I reach the earth as I reach thy side

I think I made up most of the "Old English" variants I used... Dr. Seuss and Shakespeare got nothin' on me, bro.
