Reflection

What life can you know,

Staring into a mirror?

And what lies will show,

When you go out of your way

To cover yourself?

Why won't you look away?

Can you show some sign

That you know I'm here?

 

Light is at fault here.

If there was no light,

Then you could not see.

God created light.

God created you.

These two things,

So hurtful to each other,

One so pained by another.

 

What do you see in the mirror?

Do you see the thrill of life?

Do you see the joy of others?

Do you see the blood and the tears,

Of so many years,

Lost?

Do you see me standing behind you?

I love all of the questions asked in the first & last stanzas, makes for an intense beginning and ending and leaves the reader kind of "chilled"...I love every line...dramatic, emotional :) great piece :D
