Home, Sweet Home

Home, Sweet Home

A Poem by Zi

This place is poison, it's toxic
Time drips away, here
Like venom off the fang of a beast

There are two options
When you live in a place like this
You can let it become you
You can let it change you
You can let it corrupt you

Or you can find freedom
Freedom in detachment
Freedom in the cold
Freedom in losing your mind

This place is a prison, a cage
The walls are always shifting inward
Slowly choking off the air
And, when you can no longer breathe,
The rage takes over

you create such an irony that your home sweet home is anything but sweet. there is a quote that says that home is where th people you love are gathered. i hope you find a home like that. this is a very well writen poem. the imagery especially was amazing. it also has really great rhythm
