Poem: Fifty Shades of Growing Up

Poem: Fifty Shades of Growing Up

A Poem by Zainab UF
"

When the spectrum changes...

"

Monochrome

Ceases to exist:

Now I see

Earthy sepia

Effervescent turquoise

and amber, yellowed with age.

Innocence

Lost in transition

Technicolour,

A kaleidoscopic explosion

Muting words -

Violent cobalt

Vivacious magenta

and scarlet, volcanic with rage.

Emotions

Lost in translation

Fluoroscence -

Ghosts of stressed

Molecules, glowing

Neon orange

Nebulous pink

and lime green, far from sage.

Identities

Lost in transmission

Okay, definitely not one of my best. I'm amazed I could write this at all, what with my creativity being lethargic lately. And of course, my general laziness. I'd be honoured if you review this, though!

Well, first of all, be more kind to yourself! Ha.
I think you wrote a fine poem here. People who understand photography will get more out of it htan others, but it is relatable.
We are all either growing up or resisting it. It is a constant force, like gravity. also, it is proof that there is a "force" in this universe that is pouring energy in...
Nothing is ever really lost; only out of range for a time.
Thinking on that for now.
Be well.

I love writing, I honestly do. But if I had a school assignment to write about myself, it would definitely be the one with a big red F on it. I'm Zainab, a fifteen-year-old girl with a love for go.. more..
