Thank you, Helena for your heartfelt condolences.
This bitter melon plant gave our family a divine pleasure.
It grew from the seed of a fruit that was bought from the market.
The seedling grew very fast in the tub of our verandah of the flat located at the fourth floor.It grew wonderful green foliage and lovely yellow flowers.
It produced about 12 fruits in batches which we consumed with highest satisfaction.Suddenly,the plant looked pale.We watered and it started to recover.Then again,it was drooping.We examined the leaves by a magnifying glass.To our surprise, the leaves were seriously infested by aphid or plant lice.The plant succumbed to the attack very soon.
Now,the vine hangs on the grill of the verandah with its dead leaves.
I find difficult to control my emotion when I look at the dead vine.
