This is creative. This to me is a perfect way to showcase what courage is and when you need to have courage, even if it is hidden beneath the surface. "Often haunts and consumes strength" can mean so many of life's obstacles that can haunt and drain us of strength, and what we must be courageous to go against it. This is a wonderful poem, it's short, but it gets a clear message across.
