Typhoon

Typhoon

A Poem by zainul
"

Please rush to help the survivors of Typhoon "Haiyan" that hit the Philippines

"
Homes were ruined by the howling typhoon
Dead bodies are scattered everywhere
Survivors need food and help very soon

People were busy with work till late noon
They could not imagine of any disaster
Homes were ruined by the howling typhoon

The fury of the storm swallowed sun and moon
Thousands of lives instantly died there
Survivors need food and help very soon

Peace and happiness prevailed in full tune
Sudden wrath of nature snatched divine care
Homes were ruined by the howling typhoon

You can hear only scream, lament and groan
Please rush to them with anything to share
Survivors need food and help very soon

Humans can't be selfish and hide in their cocoon
They need to show humanity to their peer
Homes were ruined by the howling typhoon
Survivors need food and help very soon

When I read your poems about life, about the things that are happening to us, I feel ashamed for I haven't written anything lately to contribute to this cause.. I am a firm believer that every poet should be involved with humanity, to write about the events that define us as a whole, let it be tragedy or a blissful moment...I guess I just caught up in my on sorrow...
Have I ever told you that your poems remind me of a very old style? Ghazal is the style that would be..~smiles~

I am so grateful for the concern and care in this poem...for the Philippines, my country. The said typhoon destroyed much of the provinces in the Visayas part, and anyone would weep in their situation. We, as fellow countrymen, also feel how they feel...and we are doing our best that we could to help them. In our school, a part of our bonus will be given to the victims at Tacloban City, the most devastated part.

Thank you so much for sharing this piece to everyone.

Thank you Bret for your prayer and wishes.
thank you so much for writing this. I'm a Filipino and we experienced what Typhoon Haiyan had done. I had a relative who was a casualty too :( The Philippines is truly grateful for the love and support everyone is giving us.
