In dreams

In dreams

A Poem by Zatoichi
"

sometimes it's the only way

"

Having slept away
the indecision of yesterday,
I rose with the sun and rowed until sunset
when I made camp on a bank of the Nile.

Before me, the rush of water drowns the sounds
of the voices inside; behind me,
the warm glow of city lights surrenders to the night
the amber melting into the blue-black velvet of eve,
the sky pierced by a scattering of stars, while

alone under moon and Mars,
without thought for property or propriety,
the river flowing freely thru the dark places,
i rest soundly, surrounded by the glory of God.

This is unlike anything you write.
Or maybe I just don't read enough.

First verse is very cheesy.
