Puzzle Peices

"

Two pieces of the puzzle lay on the counter.
They cry out, "Take me! Take me to where it is that I belong!"
Drowsy eyes trail over to look at the almost finished creation.
But there isn't a place where you belong.
A gentle hand picks up the one piece and looks at the design.
Nowhere on the entire picture does it fit.
But the two fit together perfectly with each other.
Each small curve hugging the curve of the other piece.
A confused finger runs across the pair.
The surface is perfect.
A perfect match.

But the designs are different.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
