Flower

"

Pull a flower out of the ground.
Strip it of the soil around the roots.
Throw it down onto the ground
And watch it wilt away.
Without water, you are nothing.
Just something else to rot and be left to die.

Your support has been stolen.
Have you taken it from yourself?
And why would you do that?
Is it because of the butterfly?
Because it felt like landing on a different flower?
So you lost the will.
And you lost the way.
No.
You're just scared.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
