Dream

"

Close your eyes.
Does it change what you see?
I didn't think so.
Why should it?
This life is flashing before you,
Behind closed eyes.
Yet you're still able to look around.
Freely, you think?
Oh, how very wrong you are.
You cannot control where your eyes gaze in a dream.
You'll know this soon enough.
You have no control here.
It's as simple as that.
All you can do is sit there,
And wait for your eyes to really open.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
