"

The clouds above I cannot see.
The rain falling down I cannot feel.
I keep dry through this storm.
I can taste the cold wind,
And I can smell the ashes.
They're spread across these four walls.

What I cannot see hides the sun.
What I cannot feel soaks me to the core.
And it is the wind that provoked the fire,
But the rain that created the ashes.
And it is my hand that spread the ashes.

This the walls will never forget.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
