Sky

"

The sky holds home to all which we see.
All of the clouds,
And all of our dreams.
And our only sun.

Our dreams,
Which hold up the sky,
And give it strength.
The clouds,
Which weep for the shriveled dreams
Down on this earth.
And our sun,
Who calls down to us,
To rise again,
And refuses to let us fall.

And our shattered dreams cry out to the clouds,
"Do not weep for me!"
And the clouds call back to the dreams,
"Do not give in!"
And our sun demands nothing.
Only that we should feel his warmth.

I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
