We walk through a field of flowers,
full of memories.
Many make the sun shine,
and many make the heavens cry.
Pedals float through the air,
kissing the tips of our noses.
Brushing against our cheeks.

We walk through a field of flowers,
creating our own memories.
We have no path to follow,
no way to know,
what is right or wrong.

We walk through a field of flowers,
now with the blanket of night
hanging from our shoulders.
Only the stars to guide us.
But we've spent too many days,
spinning 'round and 'round,
and now we're too dizzy,
to know left or right.
Up or down.

We walk through a field of flowers.
The pedals still float,
but the sun may not shine.
Flowers lay broken,
from where our feet have landed.

And through this field of flowers,
we will lose ourselves.
The sun in the distance,
I can see it, I know.
And I can see you.
Already you've lived many lifetimes,
in this field of flowers.
And so have I.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
