Moss

Moss

"

Mist floats wordlessly.
The sun flickers through the trees,
Cutting lines into the air.
Soft ground waves away water
With every step.

Paths open with every blink.
Do not stray
From the one you know.
The water soaks up your feet.

Continue on.
Shadows embrace that which you see.
The slanted walls prove little protection.
Dew challenges the spiders' nest,
And moss crawls up
That which you rely on.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
