"

These streets,

I don't know them.

The rain fills the cracks

Where the pavement separates,

Scared of it's other self.

It's not as if

I don't notice what you say.

But the thunder,

It drowns out your intentions.

I sit here,

Alone,

Crying at your front door.

I wait for the moment

When you don't chase me back out,

My tail between my legs.

I dodge cars now.

Strange,

They seem more welcoming than you

Ever did

For they never kicked me

While I slept.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
