"

Tapping lightly atop the desk,
Her absent-minded eyes
Stare off
Through something no one else
Can see.

Her fingers
Curl around the thin wood,
Her script
Etching into the white pages.

Startled,
Innocent eyes gaze down.

Appalled,
The pink tip seeks
To remove this blemish.

Alas,
Without prevail,
Panic strikes her soul,
Grinding pink ashes across the board.

Here lies her words,
Never be removed from herself.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
