Being

"

A wandering being,
Lost without its eyes.
A pitiful being,
Robbed of its bones.
A haunted being,
Calling out in the night.
A pale being,
With its expressionless cheeks.

Its mirror shows nothing
But a demon.
Its hands show nothing
But empty wages.
Its call says nothing
But the sound of sleep.

What is it
When the angels have all faded?
When demons lurk in the night?
And all colors fade to grey,
And all the stars obscure the sun?

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
