Stumble I will not
My feet are set
My eyes are closed
The world is not mine

Without seeing
I know
What this room
Holds for me

Its dark floors
Filtered with holes
My ankles have
Been twisted

Shadows will leak
Into the light
Without fair warning
And consume it all

My body trembling
Falling to my knees
My cry will
Not be heard

"Filtered" with holes?

It sounds like you are fearing the unexpected. Maybe there is something about to happen that you are nervous about? Interesting read :)

I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
