Understanding MindA Poem by Kelli WyattAnother old one.The words are always easier. You say one thing out of place, and they snap at you. But you just seem to shrug it off. They don't say a word to you when they're with their friends. But you just seem to shrug it off. They say something wrong, and you let them know it was alright. And you just seem to shrug it off. They call for only the sake of a single question, and can't talk. And you just seem to shrug it off. They're mad. Not at you, but at the world, and you can't help them. So you just seem to shrug it off. Something happens in their life, but they refuse to tell you. So you just seem to shrug it off. Yes, the words are there, but is the heart as well? You say "All is fine," but, is it really? An understanding mind leads to a hurt heart. A heart that hangs heavy. A heart that yearns to speak of the faults. But your mind goes against it. "Don't," it says. So you don't. © 2010 Kelli Wyatt |
