Green Galaxies

Green Galaxies

A Poem by zeronineight
"

to all the lovely greens in my galaxy

"

I don't think darkness has a color

but if it could, I'd like mine

to be the darkest shade of green

The suns in my orbit

shine so blindingly bright

that I do all that I can

so I don't have to face it

But if the darkness around it

was the darkest shade of green

maybe I could

Maybe then

I won't have to stare directly

at the blinding brightness

Maybe then

I could look forward

to the suns in my orbit

knowing their brightness

turned the deepest darkness

to lovely shades of many greens

and I wouldn't need to look away

I don't know

why darkness doesn't have a color

why it is merely an absence of light

why it must be so unbearable

I don't think darkness has a color

but it should, and I like

the one you gave mine
