the question

the question

A Poem by zerospace
"

what is it to be free?

"

A man once questioned me
"What is it to be free?
  A life without struggle, unrestrained
able to run, unchained,
to see the splendour and beauty we hope to find.
Impeded by none and guided
by those that remain,
however far we fly

and whatever wrong we find

was right.

to act unserveyed
and say what it is
 we need to say?"

"No", I replied
with a heavy smile and racing mind
"It is merely
being able to ask."

I thought about the title, but nothing really comes to mind. Sorry - titles are always harder than the writing, aren't they?

This piece reminds me that we often define or expect freedom to be something it really isn't and forget that we can find it no matter how limiting our circumstances may be.

Nobody appreciates freedom until they experience loss of it...
