Escaping Into Prison

Escaping Into Prison

A Poem by zimmerkearneaux

Fly corpse filled dusty window sills
Black dogs breathing through gills
Foaming jaws snapping at heels
Beneath substances forgetting to feel
Inner child rotting behind the seal
Ignorance such bliss
The stench so unreal

A stagger down trails to places of before
Vacancy in eyes, knocking on old doors
Returned knocks and whispers, "who knows you anymore?"
The taste of lonesome sinking in it's claws
Runner in a haze, looking like a w***e
No one left to act towards
Nothing left to score
