Lust

Lust

A Poem by zoehambridge

Through intoxicated kisses
please save my lost soul,
even if just for a night,
a brief romance,
just you and me.

We can go under covers,
and pretend for a minute,
that brief is what we both want,
and grief will not set in later on.

You can feel my body,
the curves and imperfections,
we both know that's what you want,
it was never me.

You do not need to hold my hand,
or kiss my lips,
this is not love,
love is wanting to wake up to someone,
this is wanting someone to sleep with.
