"

Abusive past//

"

I was gone.

It felt like i had been murdered.

How he took a little girl and he decided to hurt her.

He struck her down and he pulled her back onto his knees.

Watching her trying to run; screaming,

“Help, somebody, please!”

But there wasn’t any help, nobody else was there.

So he took his freaking hands -

and pulled her head back by her hair.

She screamed and she cried,

But it was all no use.

She could not escape him.

She could not fly away from the abuse.

He told her to lay still, to sit back on his lap.

And she obeyed, and she didn’t think to ask.

Why?

He spoke to her.

“It will all be alright.”

Then he took his hand and he shoved it down her tights.

And she screamed.

Oh, God, she screamed and she cried.

She shouted for her mother,

but with no other souls in sight.

She wanted to get out,

She wanted to find -

safety.

Where was her mommy?

To tuck her in that night;

Safely.

And when he was done,

Her mother came home.

She said,

“Mommy, Mommy.”

But her Mom was on the phone.

She’d been waiting all day for her mother to come back.

Waiting for her mother to show.

And now that she’s here, she just wants to know.

Was it okay?

Was it truly alright?

She didn’t know.

She was losing her mind.

She couldn’t think straight,

She was running out of time.

“Mommy,” she said.

“Mommy, Mommy!” she said.

Her mother came over to tuck her into bed.

“I have to tell you, Mommy.” she said, wiping her eyes.

“That man downstairs hurt me.”

Her mother stared at her in surprise.

Her mother urged her on and so forth she said,

“Mommy, that man tried to put me in his bed,

But he didn’t get to because you came home. You

Saved me mommy; i was all alone.”

Her mother started to cry and she hugged her babygirl.

“Mommy is so sorry she tried to promise you the world.”

Her mother was angry, hurt, and prepared.

She said she’d call in the morning,

The police,

She dared.

The cops came the next day,

The girl did not want to speak.

The man said he did not do it.

And he smiled; cheek to cheek.

The officer, later, came back to the girl.

“Sorry hun, there’s not anything we can do,

The man we questioned, said he has done nothing to you.”

And that made the girl cry. She cried so hard.

She cried for the man who should’ve went behind bars.

She cried for the girls who will be hurt by him.

And she cried and cried.

& so

That’s all she ever did.
