Caught

Caught

A Poem by Raspberry Rebel
"

A cruel desease

"

Caught within the penumbra's mordant grip, furtive diaphanous shadows lurk, tormenting...

I watch him fade like a fugacious flower cut down in its prime...

Not even friendship or love the harbinger of hope and joy,

can halt his descent into the haunted corridors of his beleaguered mind...

I now know how ephemeral life is and how for some it isn't mellifluous

and doesn't gambol along smoothly...Somehow along the way it gets distorted...

Twisted out of shape through insouciance, grief and regrets...

I'm no ethereal angel with magical powers...I stand powerless -

just a mere mortal and friend dying inside,

as I watch the jaws of depression consume and destroy one of life's best...

A lot of big words for this cowboy, but feel the grip of a bad trail that won't let you see light, Tough spot to be in , But alive just the same, and that is more then some.
