MJ Maguire

I was born in Liverpool and educated at Chester College of Further Education, Manchester University, Polytechnic of Wales and Swansea University.
I have worked on US fighter planes in Dordrecht, Holland, as a barman in Leenane, Ireland, as a Trade Marks Examiner at the Patents Office, a Policy Advisor in DTI, Head of International Relations at the Welsh Office and Principal Private Secretary to the Presiding Officer of the National Assembly for Wales.
I am now a writer and artist, have written 2 novels - The Night Traveller, MJ Maguire and A Last Fling, MJ Maguire, which is due out towards the end of this year. I am also working on an exhibition of my visual art at present. I have a longstanding passion for MG sports cars and own several - including a 1946 MG TC and a 1958 MGA Roadster which I restored some years ago.
I am keen on opera and had my voice trained at the Marchesi Singing Academy in my late teens.
