Murder Mystery Mayhem  November 16, 2009 - November 30, 2009

Reading and Deliberating

Details

Nothing gets the brain fired up, the heart pumping, and the accusations flying like a proper murder mystery. Images of moving around the Clue board, of Sherlock Holmes hot on a villain's trail, and of chalk outlines on the pavement come to mind. Do you have what it takes to write a killer murder mystery? Can you do it in two weeks?

So here's the deal. Write a murder mystery based off of one of the two prompts below. The best story for each prompt will be published on urFICTION.com, a newly created flash fiction site. Flash fiction? It's a story under 1,000 words.

RULES
Story has to be 300 to 1,000 words.
Story has to be a murder mystery.
Story has to follow on of the following prompts:
* A murder mystery that takes place in a buddy's backyard involving Karl Marx (yes, the communist dude)
* A murder mystery that takes place in a ballroom and has a lead pipe in there somewhere.

Oh, and if there aren't enough submissions by the deadline, it will be extended.

Good luck!
