Puppy-love Hell

Puppy-love Hell

A Poem by [deleted]

That empty ache in my chest

Has been gone since I met you

Now my body aches all over

Because I can't get close enough

Your hands are the gloves

Mine should always be wearing

I love your smile so much

That it makes me act silly

Inhale. Exhale.

Between the smiles

Keep breathing, stop seizing

No longer falling - we already fell

We're head over heels

In puppy-love hell

Belly-dancing for you

Like a girl from Tahiti

Together dreaming of Figi

But there's nothing much cuter

Than you raspberrying my tummy

Shopping together, and you push the buggy

We're a couple of cheese balls dipped in honey

Picking wildflowers after picnic lunching

Inhale. Exhale.

Between the smiles

Keep breathing, stop seizing

No longer falling - we already fell

We're head over heels

In puppy-love hell

We're saving some water

In a bath built for two

Eating take-out in bed

Playing twister a la deuce

Cuffing ourselves to each other for fun

No fear of commitment

We're committed to love

Precious are the moments shared between us

Inhale. Exhale.

Between the smiles

Keep breathing, stop seizing

No longer falling - we already fell

We're head over heels

In puppy-love hell

I like the sentiment in this poem. It's certainly something everyone has felt as a result of new love -- that, "This is fantastic and all, but what the hell am I doing?" feeling. I especially like the lines, "We're a couple of cheese balls dipped in honey/Picking wildflowers after picnic lunching." Fantastic... It really created an interesting picture in my mind. Thank you greatly for that.
