"
This needed saying...
"Comes A Time..."
We tell ourselves
- we know,
we understand,
but ...is always a but
...always...
but ...we can't do for every one -
...not enough hours,
nor enough days...
ever and all the excuses
all the reasons...
but
we have the tears,
have the heart.
have the strength of will
and the soul
...to do what we can
as we really can
at any given time
on any given day
without a shred
of selfishness or hesitation
or even a question of
what we really have
or could spare
...for a child...
in our right HERE and NOW

Comes a time
we need remember
in OUR right here and NOW
helping people is sharing our humanity
but helping children is
growing our future.

It is so refreshing to read this perspective on humanity because it is seldom written or even heard about. Although there will always be suffering and pain and injustice, and in many cases, an inhuman amount of evil, there will always be an overpowering source of good. And humanity definitely still exists, it just doesn't share the limelight as much anymore. I think this poem will help people to remember what our purpose really is in life and what we should never give up doing so long as we're alive. Definitely a favourite.

I feel sad on what had happen in syria, but and that 'but' indeed, I can only feel the helplessness of the situation that I can't help. The experiment on the bus, was heart touching, it was, it was... I have my hopes that we haven't all lost our hearts from those things shiny and alluring. A very nice message, truly wonderful message.

"children is growing our future"

so true...

Where does a child go when grown? Perhaps children keep us in touch with that child that is often lost within each of us as we age, lost within a winding maze of worldly trauma. When we take care of children we take care of the child within.

Such a thoughtful and inspiring and truthful write. And yes, it starts little, with little things. My daughter went to a birthday party where she was asked to bring donations to the Humane Society in lieu of gifts. Now my daughter wants to do the same thing for the local Women's shelter with no prompting from me ...
