Karla's soul

Karla's soul

A Poem by Anne Davidson-Lamb
"

I wrote this one after a break up with one I feel deeply in love with he was the one that talked me into sharing my writing.

"
Karla started into the darkness,
Not knowing if she should sleep,
Or let lose the tears to weep.

Her heart it aches.
For her love walked out her life.
You see Askan was her one true love.

He inspired her to write,
He opened her heart to the light.
That's why she knew he was Mr. Right.

She soon sat up,
And turned on the light.
The blank paper sat before her.

With the pen in her hand,
She began to write.
She poured her heart and soul out
On to the blank sheet of paper.

Her writing was her soul.
It helped her open doors.
Even if her tears fell to the floor.

It was all she had known,
All her life she wrote.
But never shared her gift
Till he stood by her,
Gave her the strength.

Karla was always scared,
Of being laughed at.
Or even called names.
It had been part of her past.
It caused her to hide.

Even at times she wanted to die.
It showed through her writing.
Cause with every word,
She felt the blood,
Bleed through the sheets.
