I am me

When the lights go out and leave you standing in the rain,
When you feel there's no one to save you from drowning in your pain,
When you think you are lonely enough to let out a cry
It's the expression in your mind that encourages you to give one more try.

When the stars shine bright and leave you enchanted by their charm,
Thinking it to be a fantasy when your heart sends you triggers and alarm
When you feel that the reality is too tempting to be true,
It's the expression in your mind that reminds you - hard work often comes out of the blue.

When life moves on and leave you hoping for a sign,
When you feel yourself as worthless as tartaric wine
When your friends move on like wolves leaping across you,
It's the expression in your mind that inspires you that you are unique too.

When all the solutions black out and doors fade away,
It's these expressions of your mind that can enlighten you like a sun rays
All you need to do is to tell yourself that you can do it and the world will see,
I am the trailblazer, I am special, I am me

What a lovely thoughtful motivational poem of self-love and appreciation of one's self.That you have to tell yourself deep inside when woes and strive get to you. And start to pull you down. As it's so important to overcome the darkness and regain your love for life and yourself.

Dear Anjeline, this is both motivational and uplifting to read. Sometimes when the chips are down, and there's no one else to talk to, we have to talk to ourselves. Mind over heart. Our minds have to beef us up when our hearts are telling us otherwise. I enjoyed your lines which will be relatable to many. Written in rhyme with a steady flow.
